News 12 New Jersey
News 12 New Jersey is an American cable news television channel that is owned by the Newsday Media Holdings subsidiary of Cablevision Systems Corporation. The channel provides 24-hour rolling news coverage focused primarily on the state of New Jersey. The channel's main studio, newsroom and sales offices are located inside the Raritan Center business complex in Edison, New Jersey.
It serves as an affiliate of the News 12 Networks slate of regional cable news channels in the New York City metropolitan area (each of which focus on areas outside of Manhattan and Queens, including the easternmost boroughs). The channel reaches more than 1.8 million households with cable television in northern and central New Jersey.
==Background==
The channel was launched in March 1996 as the fifth channel in the News 12 Networks slate of regional news channels. On October 11, 2010, News 12 New Jersey debuted a new set for its newscasts, designed by San Diego-based FX Group. This was followed on November 12, 2010, with the introduction of a new imaging package – including an updated logo, overhauls to its news ticker and graphics package, and a new music package ("Convergence" by Stephen Arnold). On November 29, 2010, the channel became the first News 12 Networks service to launch a high-definition simulcast feed.
